What To Read

Brother Theophyle is reading the Bhagavad Gita. Beside him are several piles of books. “Too many choices!” he whines. “The Gita, the Gospels, the Tanakh, the Qur'an. Dozens of others, dozens of translations, as many interpretations. How to decide?” He asks Rabbit, “Which of them do you read?”

Rabbit, replies, “I read none of them.”

In the next frame, Theo exclaims, “”Sacre bleu! You read none of them! I can't believe it. How come?”

Rabbit answers, “Look around you. Every word in all those books is everywhere before your eyes.”

A butterfly, having heard Theo exclaim in French, asks, “Est-ce que on parle francais ici?”

To the side, a red squirrel wonders aloud, “I wonder if I know how to read.”
