Closer than Close
I ordered this dvd after TZF recommended it. It is one of those films that not only do you want to own, but will probably want to pass on too. My son was over this afternoon and he usually defends himself against the overzealous onslaught of book and movie suggestions from his mother. But on this on...

Re: Here it is!
A husky dog that lives in our home ate most of my hard copy of I Am That. It was sitting here, waiting until I was ready for it, and Duke decided it had sat too long, ate both covers, and the beginning and the end of it... I'm actually getting through it easier online, don't know why... If he...

Re: The Burden of Guilt (02/16/08) Third
Yes, during my more rational or heart centered times, which rule me for the majority of the day now, I think I have done right with my kids concerning the religious, spiritual issue. I made a decision to allow their own paths to unfold as naturally as possible, even though I was given a lot of grief...

I like the example given by john travolta in The Phenomenon too. That the largest living organism is the aspen trees. They look like separate trees, but underneath they all share the same roots and are all connected.

Re: Out in the cold too long?
I ran into the term sentinent being in philosophy classes and had the same question as you, and equally unmoved by the answer. I recently joined netflix and am ordering lots of documentaries. I watched Deepak Chopra in God and Buddha: A dialogue this weekend. My favorite part was when he was discuss...

Re: The Simple, and Impoverished Life (02/16/08) First
I agree with the never getting use to death of animals. As a child, I learned quickly to keep quiet about my feelings for the animals, because no one around me seem to share this deep regard for them. I coped with the butchering time on the farm with sometimes a sleepless night before the pig or cow...

Re: The Simple, and Impoverished Life (02/16/08) First
We had a flock of chickens, with one rooster that we managed to tame so that it would sit in our arms and purr, a supposedly impossible task, since roosters are supposed to be aggressive and not in the least gentle. Indeed, he came to respond to our call and leap up into our opened arms with deligh...

Re: The Burden of Guilt (02/16/08) Third
Sometimes I even thought that my fear and guilt was so deeply ingrained that the only explanation might be that my previous incarnations were such that I suffered at the hands of inquisitors, and thus had deep memories of those sufferings I have felt this also, Anna, and do not know where it comes ...

Re: Out in the cold too long?
I watched The Primacy of Consciousness, a lecture by Peter Russell. It brought everything together for me, so many ideas that I've read about on Zoo Fence and am reading in ACIM that I have struggled with. Letting go of the idea that space, time and matter are constant and real, and realizing that c...

Re: Letting go of God
I think it is a combination of both the intellect and the heart. As S. Weil stated, 'the attitude of intellect and position of soul' I see letting go of God as a process that is necessary. Just as the Buddist talk of letting go of all attachments, this is an attachment. I think it is the final attac...

In regards to the comments from Stephen on relationship. I had a 'moment' with kiwi in the grocery store today... :? Seriously, I was picking one up and then another to pick the right ones and I suddenly felt 'in relation' with them. The aliveness of them seemed to radiate from each one and they see...

"Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'who am I to be so brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are we not to be? You are a child of ...

Re: Maybe not, but then, maybe
I recently attended a funeral at a catholic church. The atmosphere, music, bells, incense all touched me deeply and it seemed that I was looking through a haze in the air of the church, as if the Holy Spirit was thick in presence. I don't ever remember feeling this in church in my past. So, I think ...

Re: Dreams and Nightmares (02/06/08) Second
There was a great teacher that once said “You cannot serve two masters.” He might just as well have added that it will create enormous chaos if you try to. I’m starting to think that this exact lesson was playing out in my life in the last year. As I ended my time of a late bloomer full time studen...
