Interesting ... I do recall a moment in my life when "I decided" to become a seeker, or rather, at that time, decided the only thing that mattered was to know the truth, to wake up, for "me" to be enlightened. That seems to have come to pass. However, there is no me to have it, or be it. Yet it is. ...

Along a similar vein, there is a wonderful animated film called "Waking Life" that takes you on a verbose exploration of philosophies of waking/dreaming. If I am remembering correctly, the makers actually filmed everything and then drew over it. Waking Life is several years older than What the Bleep...

Actually, I had been mulling this stuff over, and what I said about conscious tricks of perception manipulation, and about seeing past the person removing me from full engagement ... is bunk. And Anna's replies kinda solidified this wave of realization. In all actuality, the deeper one goes,...

Ha ha! - got a good chuckle out of your stance towards UG. But I'll too say that proposition is full of nonsense (I'm willing to play along with our imaginary conversation with UG) - yet I have not spent a great amount of my life training my mind. And focus! - forget about it. Is there any motiviati...

I see no difference between the "greatest work" as that which is not prompted by selfish motives and the "least work" as that which is prompted by selfish motives. Work is work. Whether I am disappointed or frustrated - or - pleased and enjoyed ... in "my" holding on or "my" surrendering in work ......

Cool stuff from Zeno. Never heard of him before. I have often pondered the pendulum of a clock. Left to right, right to left ... wondering if it could actually stop before reversing positions ... it has to ... but it can't. Must be its not really moving at all in the first place. Hmmm. Had never tho...

How do I work? Interesting ... I believe begrudgingly would be an accurate description. As long as I can remember I have despised any work of any sort ... from childhood practicing of the piano to mowing the lawn ... although both brought nice payoffs. As an "adult", I still abhor exerting effort; a...

Hmmm. Yes. It never ceases to amaze that it is pointed many times by the phrase "I am the way" and the mind (ego) latches on to a belief that "He is the Way" and creates religions that lead astray of direct simple Truth. This diversion apparently strengthens the ego and guarantees everlasting life -...

I first met Gangaji in person in the summer of 2000 at a week-long silent retreat near Lake Tahoe. I had the opportunity to sit with her for a few moments in front of about 300 people. Our second meeting was in the winter of 2002 in Santa Monica. At that time she and her husband Eli Jaxon Bear were ...

That quote reminds me of what it says in the beginning of ACIM, and although I have long since left that book behind (too many stories), this opening has stayed with me. Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God. Nevermind that I "left that book behind". The...
