Re: Letting go of God

",,,the point is that whatever concepts we have of God say nothing about God at all, but they say a great deal about us." Bingo, Art! To me, that statement sums it up as absolutly as can be expected! In actually, we know nothing about the nature of God, as we devised the idea of "God,...

Re: Letting go of God

How can I let go of what I AM? I cannot even let go of my concepts of God. All I can do is change them, for as soon as I "let go" of one, another promptly replaces it!

Re: The Judgment of the Birds- Stefan's post

"the dog was to sick to live..." While we may be saddened when we end the life of a pet to "put it out of its misery," or even that of an animal we slaughter to feed ourselves, we allow fellow humans to linger for years in conditions of abject despair, from which there is no seem...

...where a book or a meeting with a Teacher or some other event literally “changed everything”.
"Things" remain the same. Our perspective of them changes!"

BTW, Art, I like your quotation!

Re: Very Nice

Not that I regret anything that has transpired in my journey to here; all of it put together is what and who I am in this temporary state, the kernel which will eventually fall away. That statement aptly describes each of us, Art and I, for one, feel that whatever point on the path that may be for ...

Re: Very Nice

Then neither you, with your "sez who?" attitude or me, clothed in my skepticism suit, would last very long as his students, Stefan! As an idea, his theory is real, but as a reality ...? I rejected dogmas based upon "because I said so," or because a book says so, in my youth. Than...

Re: Very Nice

Stefan, I just saved as a draft, my reply to your response to my question about "proof;" but, now I cannot find it. Do you know how I can retrieve it?

Re: Very Nice

Where is the spell check button? I did not see anything in FAQ about it. I prefer the Avatars to be on the left, as my eyes hang up on them when I get to the end of a sentence; thereby slowing my reading pace. Instant messaging programs use way to much memory IMNSHO. I prefer "SKYPE," the ...

"If at first you don't succeed, click, click, again!" You are welcome, Stefan. I read all eleven chapters, but got more from two, ten, and eleven, than the others.

That's very strange, Stefan. I clicked on the one I provided and the one in your quote. Both took right to chapter two of the book from which I obtained the excerpt.

The Dance of Maya

An excerpt from chapter two "Finding Validity" at: http://www.tassos-oak.com/online/02validity.html "The Vedanta branch of Hinduism takes the view that the essence of the universe is play -- the universe is at exuberant play with itself, dancing a vast private dance in which each inte...

It matters not which choice of available paths we make today. As eternal beings we eventually get to trod them all!

"Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink,
Water, water, everywhere..."
That I refused to drink!

Yup. Makes sense, Stefan.
